Artist Statement
Naomi Whan creates textile art pieces
that stretch the boundaries of her materials which include fabric, paper and reeds. Her work displays an open-mindedness towards materials and making. This creative response, free expression and spontaneity is what fascinates her and drives her to create work. She is inspired by the limitations and restrictions of working from a limited range of materials since constraints can force creativity and originality. |
